back with a painting and a subway sketch

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

OK, it's been a while. Blue Sky has kept me busy, and I've been cooking on some ideas for kids' books, so I haven't posted in forever. Here is a painting (sketch) I did a few years back with Dice when he was living on the west side. It was one of my favorites. The sketch is a subway rider I captured last winter. His puffy coat made him twice as large.

I am getting the itch to get out and paint this year, when it gets a little warmer...
I recently got a small watercolor sketch pad, and I toned the pages with a neutral warm grey. I dusted off my gouache paints, so no more excuses. There will be some color studies coming soon!
